As if you don’t have enough decisions to make in a day! Your boss may have asked your to order business checks online, or perhaps you have your own small business and need to do it yourself.

Now you’re staring at a web page wondering if you’re going to get the right type of checks, or if you’re going to mess things up and end up with the wrong product.

There are quite a few choices when it comes to business checks. But if you take a look at your company’s needs and accounting tools – it shouldn’t be too difficult. Here’s the basic idea…

First we’ll take a look at the two main types of business checks we offer at Check Advantage.

Manual Checks and Laser Checks

The term manual checks sounds like you’re going to have to do a bunch of work doesn’t it? Not really. Manual checks are just typical checks that you fill out with a pen. Of course when you order from Check Advantage they will come personalized with your business’s contact information. You choose just how much you wanted printed on the checks when you begin placing your order.

We make up to five lines of information available, but you can choose to enter only one line if you wish.

Our manual checks are all 3-on-a-page checks. However you can also order them in one of our desktop sets including a register and cover, or you can purchase a business check kit including our 7 ring binder and other items. That’s a great way to get your small business accounting practices off on the right foot!

Laser checks give your business a clean and professional look. But you’re going to need some type of financial software to use them. Microsoft Money, Quicken and Quickbooks are three of the most used types of accounting software. We offer Quickbooks Checks, Quicken Checks and MS Money Checks to meet your needs.

There are also business checks offered through Check Advantage that work perfectly with dozens of other types of software.

What Style Should You Order?

That was the easy part. But once you know if you need manual or laser checks – how do you choose from the many different styles.

To determine the answer – you have to ask yourself how the checks you plan to order will be used.

Check Advantage offers Payroll Checks to be used to pay employee salaries. Checks that have vouchers with extra room for recording multiple invoices, and Multi-Purpose Checks that can be used for a variety of functions.

Colors and Logos

There are 12 different colors to choose from in our laser checks selections, and four different colors of manual checks.

You may want to order a few different colors to help organize different types of checks or payments using a color-coding system.

Logos can add a nice finishing touch to your business checks. You can choose to add one of our many stock logos or send us your own company logo to print on your new checks.
