Should You Get That Extended Warranty?

by Kasey Steinbrinck

This is a situation you’ll no doubt run into when holiday shopping – especially if your buying electronics.

The cashier asks you if you want the extended warranty.

Then they tell you what it protects you against and all of a sudden you start worrying about what might happen.

Allison W. from The Digerati Life doesn’t believe in those warranties. She says there are electronics all over her house – but none of them have extended warranties.

“Salespeople will always try and tempt you with an extended warranty, but don’t feel pressured into buying one. They will be programmed to sell you the benefits, but don’t be swayed. It’s important to understand the value of taking out insurance against your appliances and electronics, and the truth is? It’s really not worth it.”

Allison lists these four things to think about before making a decision.

1. An extended warranty is an extra cost.

2. Check your credit card benefits for this freebie.

3. The warranty you buy may be redundant.

4. Instead of spending, why not save?

Find out exactly what all those tips mean and get all the details of why Allison avoids those extended warranties when you read the full post on The Digerati Life.
